Documentation needed for temporary import of firearms for HUNTING PURPOSES.

• Valid passport
• Valid driver’s license or I.D. with current address
• Hunting license
• Bill of sale for the firearm
• Criminal records certificate from the Police Department
• Governmental tax fee of $ (money order made out to Consulate General of Italy - Chicago)

Documentation needed for temporary import of firearms for SPORTING EVENTS.

• Valid passport
• Valid driver’s license or I.D. with current address
• Criminal records certificate from the Police Department
• Invitation to participate in sporting events issued by FEDERAZIONE ITALIANA TIRO A VOLO / UNIONE ITALIANA TIRO A SEGNO
• Statement (annex 1) issued by FEDERAZIONE ITALIANA TIRO A VOLO / UNIONE ITALIANA TIRO A SEGNO indicating the dates and places of the sporting events and describing the firearms to be introduced in Italy
• Governmental tax fee of $ (money order made out to Consulate General of Italy - Chicago)

The above fees are adjourned periodically in line with the variable rate of exchange dollar/euro

For permanent import of firearms it is absolutely necessary to secure beforehand the authorization from the competent Questura in Italy, which will inform directly the applicant on the procedures to be followed and the documentation of support needed.
