My Fellow Italians,
This
Consulate General can rapidly supply the required services and enable
you to fully exercise your rights, not least the right to vote by correspondence,
only if you communicate your complete and updated personal data.
In
particular, I would like to remind you that:
- the enrollment in the A.I.R.E. at the Consulate is
required by Law;
- the enrollment in the A.I.R.E. is free;
- you can take advantage of regular consular services
only if your personal information is complete and updated;
- generally speaking, local Authorities and Consulates
do not exchange personal information related to Italian citizens: therefore,
the update of personal data is up to Italian citizens themselves;
- the lack of updated information, especially in regard
to the address change, makes it impossible for the Consulate to immediately
contact the Italian citizens. The Consulate is then obliged to activate
complex onerous research systems that are not always effective to updated
those personal data that have now become obsolete;
- only the enrollment in the A.I.R.E. and the punctual
communication of any change in personal data to the Consulate will allow
the Italian citizens living abroad to exercise their right to vote.
I rely
on your kind collaboration.
Eugenio
Sgrò
Consul General of Italy
